With warmer weather expected this Bank Holiday weekend, we’re reminding residents to stay safe and protect their homes while enjoying the sunshine.
🏡 Top Home Safety Tips: 🔒 Keep doors and windows secure – It’s tempting to leave things open, especially at night, but make sure downstairs windows and doors are locked when you’re not in the room. 🌙 Be mindful overnight – If you need a window open to keep cool, choose an upstairs window where possible and ensure it is not easily accessible. 👀 Don’t advertise empty homes – If you’re heading out for the day, avoid posting your location in real time on social media. 🚗 Remove valuables from sight – Keep items like phones, bags, and keys out of view from windows and doors. 🔥 Fire safety matters too – Stay cautious with BBQs, open flames and electrical fans. Never leave cooking unattended. 💧 Look after vulnerable neighbours – Check in on elderly or vulnerable members of your community during hot weather. 👮♀️ If you see anything suspicious, report it to us.
